Minority students

Picture
INSIGHT traineeships are open to minority undergraduate students at US institutions, including participating Minority Serving Institutions (MSI). We recommend you contact a faculty mentor at your local institution who can help you find a traineeship program and can guide you through the application process. Alternatively, you are encouraged to  directly apply to the program of your choice (see List of Institutions for more information). You may also contact INSIGHT directly with any questions you may have.

If you think some of your students may be interested in nuclear science, and you are not partnering with a traineeship program yet, we invite you to contact us. We are continually developing new partnerships and we would be happy to connect you with suitable traineeships. . While we focus primarily on student experiences, we are interested in all aspects that strengthen institutional relationships, including research connections among faculty.

Graduate students at traineeship institutions (see List of Institutions) may have the  opportunity to serve as mentors for INSIGHT students. These are typically paid positions that offer unique opportunities to gain mentorship experience. Faculty at traineeship institutions:  We are always looking for faculty willing to offer remote or in-person research internships for INSIGHT students. Contact your local traineeship lead, or contact us if you are interested in mentoring a student.
